BMW, VW & Renault complain that Europe’s ICE rules are very unfair

In recent days, executives from BMW, Volkswagen, and Renault have criticized the European Union’s emission targets, contending that the phase-out regulations impose excessive strain on the automotive sector, especially considering the slow consumer adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). The policy will further tighten next year before the complete prohibition of gas and diesel cars in 2035, potentially subjecting automakers to significant fines should they fail to meet the requirements.
