BYD’s premium brand Denza has officially revealed its new pure electric SUV lineup, including the five-seat Denza N8 and the six-seat Denza N8L. Regulatory filings detail advanced tri-motor hardware and new battery technology, positioning these models in the premium electric SUV segment.
Denza N8 and N8L: Dimensions and Design
The Denza N8 and N8L share a 3,075 mm (~121 inches) wheelbase, with the N8L measuring 5,200 mm (~205 inches) in length and the N8 at 5,150 mm (~203 inches). Both models are 1,999 mm (~79 inches) wide and 1,820 mm (~72 inches) tall.
Buyers can choose between 20-inch and 21-inch wheel rim styles. Additional visual options include body-coloured roofs, unique brake callipers, and integrated electronic side steps. The rear design features a dual-strip light bar, consistent with Denza’s recent plug-in hybrid SUVs.

Performance and Battery Technology
The highlight of the new Denza N8 lineup is the tri-motor configuration, which combines a 270 kW front motor with two 310 kW rear motors for a total output of 890 kW (1,193 hp). Single-motor variants are also available, offering peak outputs of either 320 kW or 370 kW.
Both models use the second-generation Blade Battery developed by FinDreams. This battery system features flash charging capabilities.
Smart Driving and Safety Features
The Denza N8 series comes equipped with the God Eye 5.0 smart driving system. This package uses an end-to-end large model trained on real-world driving data to manage automated navigation.
Roof-mounted lidar sensors and front bumper millimetre-wave radars provide comprehensive environmental scanning for advanced driver assistance.
Market Performance and Pricing
Denza’s current plug-in hybrid versions are priced from $44,087 (~AUD 63,529) to $51,439 (~AUD 74,124). The brand delivered 18,631 vehicles in June 2026, representing a 19.3% increase from the previous month and a 31.1% rise year-on-year.
According to China EV DataTracker, Denza now holds a 1.2% share of the domestic Chinese market.

Why this matters
The introduction of the Denza N8 and N8L with high-performance tri-motor hardware and advanced battery technology highlights BYD’s ongoing push into the premium electric SUV market. The strong sales growth and market share gains in June 2026 reflect increasing consumer interest in Denza’s offerings.
What this means for buyers
Buyers looking for a premium electric SUV with advanced powertrain options and the latest battery technology now have new choices in the Denza N8 and N8L. With a range of configurations and smart driving features, these models are set to compete in China’s growing high-end EV segment.
