BYD Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9 PHEV Makes Public Debut at Chengdu Auto Show 2026

The BYD Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) Ti 9 plug-in hybrid crossover has been officially unveiled at the 2026 Chengdu Auto Show in China. This flagship model from BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao brand features a substantial electric range and rapid charging capabilities. The Ti 9 is set to begin domestic sales later this year.

Official Launch and Brand Context

The Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9 was presented to the public at the 29th Chengdu Auto Show, marking its first live appearance. Fang Cheng Bao is a China-only brand under the BYD umbrella, though its models are also marketed globally under BYD and Denza badges. According to China EV DataTracker, Fang Cheng Bao delivered 29,613 vehicles domestically in July 2026.

The Ti 9 is positioned as the brand’s flagship and will start domestic sales in 2026.

Design and Features

The Ti 9 is a full-size SUV with a blocky, robust design. It measures 5,270 mm (~207 inches) in length, 1,999 mm (~78.7 inches) in width, and 1,850 mm (~72.8 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm (~123.2 inches). The SUV rides on 22-inch wheels featuring floating center caps that keep the Fang Cheng Bao logo upright while driving. Red brake calipers on the front axle add a sporty touch.

The vehicle is finished in brown and includes large side-view mirrors, semi-hidden door handles, and a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof. At the rear, vertically aligned taillights stand out. Despite its rugged appearance, the Ti 9 is a unibody crossover and incorporates the DiSus-P Ultra hydraulic suspension system along with rear-wheel steering.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Ti 9 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged internal combustion engine producing 115 kW (154 hp), paired with two electric motors for a combined peak output of 400 kW (536 hp). The system is powered by a 66.5 kWh LFP Blade 2.0 battery.

The Ti 9 offers an electric-only range of 310 km (~193 miles) and supports flash charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes. The combined driving range of the SUV reaches up to 2,300 km (~1,429 miles).

Interior and Seating Options

While the interior has not yet been revealed, regulatory filings indicate that the Ti 9 will be available in three interior layouts, accommodating 5, 6, or 7 passengers.

Why this matters

The debut of the Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9 highlights BYD’s continued expansion of its plug-in hybrid offerings in China’s large SUV segment. With its significant electric range and rapid charging, the Ti 9 demonstrates the brand’s focus on advanced hybrid technology and versatility for domestic buyers.

What this means for buyers

For those in China seeking a large SUV with a long electric range and fast charging, the Fang Cheng Bao Ti 9 presents a new flagship option. Buyers can expect domestic sales to begin later in 2026, with multiple seating configurations to suit different needs.
