BYD Reveals Australian Pricing and Details for Upgraded Atto 3 Evo

BYD has announced the Australian pricing for its updated Atto 3 Evo electric SUV, with orders now open and deliveries expected to begin in September. The new model brings a range of technical and design upgrades, and will be offered in two variants for the Australian market.

Australian Launch and Pricing

The BYD Atto 3 Evo is now available for order in Australia, following its recent debut in New Zealand. Australian buyers can choose between two variants: the Dynamic, starting from A$41,990 (~$29,654), and the Premium, starting from A$46,990 (~$33,185). Both prices are before on-road costs.

Deliveries for the Australian market are scheduled to commence in September.

Variant Specifications and Performance

The Dynamic variant features front-wheel drive and is equipped with a 60.48 kWh BYD Blade Battery, delivering 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque. This version offers up to 420 km (~261 miles) of WLTP range and supports DC fast charging up to 110 kW on a 400V architecture.

The Premium variant steps up to rear-wheel drive with a larger 74.88 kWh Blade Battery, producing 230 kW and 380 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and offers a driving range of up to 520 km (~323 miles). The Premium also features BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, doubling the system voltage to 800V and enabling DC charging at up to 220 kW, allowing a 0 to 80 percent charge in just 25 minutes.

Design and Interior Upgrades

The Atto 3 Evo retains the same external dimensions as the outgoing model: 4,455 mm (~175 inches) long, 1,875 mm (~74 inches) wide, 1,615 mm (~64 inches) tall, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm (~107 inches). Exterior updates include fully extended daytime running lights, slimmer side skirts, a cleaner side profile, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels for each variant.

Inside, the model features a redesigned interior with a column-mounted gear shifter relocated to the right of the steering column, a new steering wheel design, and an upgraded driver’s LCD dashboard now measuring 8.8 inches. Additional enhancements include redesigned door panels, multi-colour ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers, and increased wireless phone charging power from 15W to 50W.

The Premium variant adds dual-zone climate control, a driver’s seat with four-way power lumbar support, 490 litres (~17.3 cubic feet) of rear boot space (1,360 litres/~48 cubic feet with seats folded), and a 101-litre (~3.6 cubic feet) front trunk. The Premium also offers a 1,500 kg (~3,307 lbs) braked towing capacity.
