California hits 100% renewable energy as solar and wind smash fossil fuels

South Australia has emerged as a global leader in the adoption of wind and solar energy, maintaining an average usage of over 71% in the past year and frequently exceeding 100% of its local energy demand. Despite being a relatively small state with a moderate economy, South Australia has achieved remarkable success in renewable energy utilization. Similarly, California, boasting the world’s largest sub-national economy and ranking fifth globally if considered as a separate country, is now establishing new standards for renewable energy. In recent weeks, California’s wind, solar, and hydroelectric resources have consistently met or exceeded the region’s energy needs.
