Changan Nevo, a new energy brand under Changan China Group, is preparing to launch a long-range version of its Nevo A06 electric sedan. The new variant will feature an 80.02 kWh battery and promises up to 800 km (~497 miles) of range under CLTC conditions.
Changan Nevo A06: Expanding the Lineup
The Changan Nevo A06 was introduced to the Chinese market in November 2025 as a mid-size electric sedan targeting young buyers. The current BEV lineup includes two powertrain options: a 120 kW (161 hp) rear-wheel-drive model with a 51.48 kWh LFP battery for 510 km (~317 miles) CLTC range, and a 210 kW (286 hp) rear-wheel-drive version with a 63.18 kWh LFP battery for 630 km (~391 miles) CLTC range.

Details of the Long-Range Version
According to the purchase tax reduction list released by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the upcoming long-range Nevo A06 will use an 80.02 kWh LFP battery supplied by the CATL-Changan joint venture. This battery pack weighs 566 kg (~1,248 lbs), which is notably lighter than BYD’s 81.8 kWh LFP battery, reported to be 145 kg (~320 lbs) heavier.
The long-range variant is powered by a single TZ190XY008 permanent magnet electric motor delivering 245 kW (329 hp) to the rear axle. It achieves a top speed of 188 km/h and features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. On a full charge, the model offers between 770 and 800 km (~478 to ~497 miles) of range under CLTC testing, depending on equipment.
Design and Specifications
The Changan Nevo A06 is classified as a mid-size sedan, measuring 4,885 mm (~192 inches) in length, 1,916 mm (~75 inches) in width, and 1,496 mm (~59 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,922 mm (~115 inches). The long-range model has a curb weight of 1,908 kg (~4,207 lbs) and offers two wheel options: 225/55 R18 and 245/45 R19.
Sales Performance
Changan Nevo has seen significant growth in 2026, with 35,585 cars delivered to users in July, marking a 33.9% increase year-over-year, according to China EV DataTracker.

Why this matters
The introduction of a long-range, mass-market electric sedan with up to 800 km (~497 miles) of range highlights the rapid advancements in battery technology and affordability in China’s EV sector. The Changan Nevo A06’s combination of range, performance, and competitive pricing could make it an attractive option for buyers seeking extended driving autonomy without moving to a premium segment.
