Electric Car sales in China break records in May with Tesla still in first place

China’s retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) experienced a slowdown last week, impacting overall performance since the start of the month. From May 1-26, retail sales of passenger NEVs in China reached 574,000 units, reflecting a 27 percent increase year-on-year and a 2 percent rise compared to the previous month, according to data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
