In May, China’s new energy passenger car sales experienced a notable resurgence, rebounding significantly from an unexpected decline observed in April. According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), wholesale sales of passenger new energy vehicles (NEVs) in China reached an estimated 910,000 units in May. This figure represents a 35 percent increase compared to the same period last year and a 16 percent rise from April. In April, manufacturers with wholesale sales exceeding 10,000 passenger NEVs accounted for 86.6 percent of all wholesale NEV sales, as reported by the CPCA.
