A Unique Approach for the Chinese Market
The Ford Bronco EV is not simply an electrified version of the American Bronco. Instead, Ford partnered with Jiangling Motors to develop a model tailored for Chinese buyers, using a dedicated electric platform. Jiangling Motors is also responsible for producing the European-spec Ford Transit City.
The Bronco EV features a custom body and a substantial 105.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by BYD. This setup delivers a CLTC-rated range of 403 miles (~649 km), making it suitable for long-distance travel.

Inside, the Bronco EV is equipped with a pair of digital screens and a modern infotainment system. All-wheel drive and 8.6 inches (~218 mm) of ground clearance provide capability for occasional off-road use, while the vehicle remains focused on comfort and technology for daily driving.
The model is designed to appeal to Chinese consumers who value the option of off-road ability but primarily use their vehicles on paved roads.
Extended-Range Version
Ford also offers an extended-range version of the Bronco EV in China. This variant combines a 43.7 kWh battery with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, enabling 136 miles (~219 km) of electric-only driving under the CLTC cycle.
This configuration is aimed at reducing range anxiety by providing both electric and gasoline-powered flexibility.
