Ford’s CEO claims company is close to achieving autonomous driving

US road safety investigators have discovered that Ford’s semi-autonomous driving software was active when a Mustang Mach-E collided with the rear of another vehicle, causing the death of the other car’s driver. Marketed as BlueCruise, Ford asserts that the system can accelerate, brake, and change lanes automatically on 97% of highways in the US and Canada, without requiring the driver to touch the steering wheel.
