Leapmotor B10 EREV Crossover Debuts in Mexico with 990 km Range

Leapmotor, the Chinese new energy vehicle brand backed by Stellantis, has officially launched its B10 EREV crossover in Mexico. The B10 arrives with a competitive price and a substantial electric range, marking Leapmotor’s first entry into the North American market.

Leapmotor B10 Launches in Mexico

The Leapmotor B10 EREV crossover is now available for purchase across Mexico, with deliveries already underway. Priced at $32,918 (~AUD 47,486), the B10 offers a single trim level called Ultra Hibrido Design and is available in seven exterior colors and two interior shades. This launch follows the model’s localization and testing at the Stellantis Mexico Automotive Engineering R&D and Testing Center.

Leapmotor has established 28 stores throughout Mexico, including six in Mexico City. After-sales support will be provided by Stellantis’ Mopar service division. Buyers in Mexico receive a four-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty.

B10 Powertrain and Features

The Leapmotor B10 is a range-extended crossover powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that acts solely as a generator, sending energy to a single 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor. The engine does not provide direct torque to the wheels. An 18.8 kWh LFP battery delivers up to 98 km (~61 miles) of NEDC electric-only range and can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes using 46 kW DC fast charging.

With a 50-liter fuel tank, the B10 achieves a total mixed range of up to 990 km (~615 miles) under NEDC conditions. Energy consumption is rated at 16.6 kWh per 100 km. The vehicle measures 4,530 mm (~178 inches) in length, 1,885 mm (~74 inches) in width, and 1,655 mm (~65 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm (~108 inches) and a ground clearance of 170 mm (~6.7 inches). The curb weight is 1,785 kg (~3,935 lbs), and the trunk offers 334 liters (~11.8 cubic feet) of cargo space.

Technology and Safety

Inside, the B10 features a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Safety is addressed with seven airbags as standard, along with advanced driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and autonomous emergency braking. Ambient lighting further enhances the cabin experience.

Leapmotor’s Expansion and Future Plans

Leapmotor is rapidly expanding, with 93,376 units delivered in June 2026 and a total of 356,487 vehicles sold from January to June 2026, according to China EV DataTracker. The company is partly owned by Stellantis and is planning to introduce the C10 and C16 crossovers to the Mexican market in the near future.

Why this matters

Leapmotor’s entry into Mexico represents a significant milestone for Chinese new energy vehicle brands expanding into North America. The B10’s combination of electric range, hybrid flexibility, and competitive pricing could appeal to buyers seeking alternatives to traditional hybrids and EVs.

With Stellantis providing after-sales support and warranty coverage, Leapmotor is positioning itself as a credible new player in the region’s growing NEV market.

What this means for buyers

For Mexican consumers, the Leapmotor B10 offers a new option in the range-extended crossover segment, blending electric driving with long-range capability. Buyers benefit from comprehensive warranty coverage and established service support through Stellantis’ Mopar division.

Those interested in the B10 should also watch for the upcoming C10 and C16 crossovers, which are set to expand Leapmotor’s local lineup.
