MG 07 Deliveries Begin After Surpassing 31,000 Firm Orders

SAIC MG has officially started deliveries of the MG 07 sedan, following strong demand that saw firm orders exceed 31,000 units. The model, launched on August 21st, attracted significant attention with its rapid order intake and broad range of configurations.

Rapid Order Intake and Launch Details

MG announced that the MG 07 secured its first 10,000 firm orders in just 1 minute and 57 seconds after its launch. The total number of firm orders has now surpassed 31,000 units, reflecting notable consumer interest.

The MG 07 is offered in seven different configurations, spanning both hybrid and pure electric powertrains. Pricing ranges from $16,167 (~AUD 22,568) to $23,739 (~AUD 33,138), with the entry price less than half that of the Xiaomi SU7 and dimensions comparable to the Tesla Model 3.

Design and Interior Features

The MG 07 features frameless doors, a five-stage electric rear spoiler, and 19-inch wheels. Storage is provided by a 168L front trunk and a 697L rear trunk. The sedan measures 4,886 mm (~192 inches) in length, 1,900 mm (~75 inches) in width, and 1,478 mm (~58 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm (~111 inches).

High-trim models include zero-gravity ‘queen seats’, ventilation, heating, and massage functions throughout the vehicle, as well as a 21-speaker 7.1.4 surround sound system. A 30L dual-zone refrigerator is also integrated into the luggage compartment.

Technology and Safety

The MG 07 utilises the Momenta R7 intelligent driving solution, supporting Navigate on Pilot (NOA) for both urban and highway environments. The vehicle offers parking assistance across nine different scenarios and provides 25 active safety functions.

Powertrain Options and Performance

Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) models are built on an 800V platform and equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous front drive motor. Depending on the configuration, maximum power is either 176 kW (236 hp) or 235 kW (315 hp), with peak torque of 300 N·m or 350 N·m. Battery options include 67 kWh and 91 kWh packs, resulting in pure electric ranges of 610 km (~379 miles), 650 km (~404 miles), or 845 km (~525 miles).

The Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) version features a 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 82 kW (110 hp) and a drive motor providing 152 kW (204 hp). It offers a CLTC pure electric range of 245 km (~152 miles) and a power-depleted fuel consumption of 2.91L per 100 km. When fully charged and fueled, the MG 07 PHEV can achieve a combined CLTC range of up to 1,745 km (~1,084 miles).

MG’s Milestone in Europe

In February this year, MG became the first Chinese car brand to achieve cumulative sales of over one million vehicles in the European Union and the UK.

Why this matters

The strong order numbers and rapid delivery start for the MG 07 highlight the growing appeal of Chinese-developed electric and hybrid sedans. With a wide range of configurations and competitive pricing, the MG 07 is positioned to attract a broad segment of buyers seeking advanced technology and long-range capability.

MG’s achievement of one million cumulative sales in Europe underscores the brand’s expanding global presence and the increasing acceptance of Chinese vehicles in international markets.

What this means for buyers

Buyers interested in the MG 07 can choose from multiple configurations to suit their preferences for electric or hybrid powertrains, advanced driver assistance features, and premium interior options. The model’s competitive pricing and extensive range make it a strong contender for those considering a new sedan in 2026.

With deliveries now underway, prospective customers can expect availability to improve as production ramps up.
