Key Features and Upgrades for 2026

The 2026 Xpeng G6 introduces several upgrades over the previous model, including a new front light bar, updated bumpers, a redesigned rear light strip with spoiler, new paint options (with Orange removed), new wheels, ambient lighting, an upgraded interior, and a larger center screen. The vehicle is now 5 mm longer, measuring 4,758 mm (~187 inches) in total length.

The G6 is built on an 800 V architecture and supports ultra-fast 5C charging, enabling a 10-80% charge in just 12 minutes. However, the maximum charging speed of 451 kW is not yet supported by public DC chargers in Australia.

Variants, Range, and Pricing

Available in four variants, the G6 lineup starts with the RWD Standard Range, offering up to 480 km (~298 miles) of range. The Long Range variant increases this to 525 km (~326 miles), while the top-spec Performance model features a dual-motor powertrain and up to 510 km (~317 miles) of range.

The Performance Black Edition, which adds unique styling elements, is priced at A$66,800 (~$47,150) before on-road costs. All variants use an 80.8-kWh Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery pack and include 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.

Warranty and After-Sales Support

The Xpeng G6 comes with a 7-year unlimited kilometer warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km (~99,400 miles) battery warranty. This coverage surpasses that offered by competitors such as the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7.

Why this matters

The arrival of the 2026 Xpeng G6 marks a significant step for the brand’s renewed presence in Australia, offering buyers a technologically advanced EV with rapid charging and competitive warranties. With Xpeng now officially reporting monthly sales data through vFacts, the G6’s performance in the local market will be closely watched by industry observers and potential buyers.

What this means for buyers

Buyers interested in the latest EV technology and fast charging capabilities now have a new option in the mid-size SUV segment. The G6’s warranty and feature set make it a strong contender, especially for those comparing it to established models like the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7. With first deliveries imminent, prospective customers should check availability at local dealerships and monitor monthly sales data for updates on supply and demand.
