VinFast has reported a significant increase in electric vehicle deliveries in Vietnam, with July 2026 marking a new high for the company. The latest figures show VinFast is on track to surpass its previous annual sales record, highlighting a shift in the country’s EV market.
VinFast’s July Deliveries Reach New Heights
VinFast delivered 21,781 electric vehicles in Vietnam in July 2026, a 21.3% increase from June’s 17,955 units. This brings the company’s total for the first seven months of 2026 to 137,697 vehicles, already equivalent to 79% of its full-year 2025 total of 175,099 deliveries.
The company’s strong performance stands out in the broader Vietnamese automobile market. In 2025, reported sales from VinFast, members of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association, and Hyundai Thanh Cong totaled 604,134 vehicles, with VinFast accounting for about 29% of that combined market.
Compact and Commercial Models Lead the Charge
VinFast’s sales growth is being driven by a mix of compact passenger vehicles and models aimed at commercial use. The Limo Green was the company’s top-selling model for the year through July, with 32,331 deliveries, including 4,404 units in July alone.
The smaller VF 3 led VinFast’s July results with 5,564 units delivered, bringing its year-to-date total to 29,345. The VF 5 and Herio Green commercial variant together contributed 4,407 deliveries in July, reaching a combined seven-month figure of 24,574.
At the lower end of the market, VinFast delivered 2,429 Minio Green vehicles in July after reducing its listed price to $7,204 (~AUD 10,174). The Minio Green is marketed as an urban alternative to motorcycles, targeting short city journeys.
New Models and Reservations
VinFast began taking reservations for the VF 2, a small electric model, in July 2026 and received 28,742 reservations. Deliveries for the VF 2 are scheduled to begin in September 2026.
Other models, such as the VF 6 and VF MPV 7, also maintained steady sales, with 1,993 and 1,674 deliveries in July, and year-to-date totals of 16,038 and 10,851, respectively.
VinFast expects to begin deliveries of the new-generation VF 8 in August 2026.
VinFast’s Position in the Vietnamese Market
VinFast’s domestic market remains central to its global business. In 2025, Vietnam accounted for 175,099 of the 196,919 EVs VinFast delivered worldwide, meaning roughly nine out of every ten vehicles went to Vietnamese customers.
The company’s 2025 deliveries were nearly double its 2024 volume, and it outpaced Toyota, which delivered 71,954 vehicles in Vietnam in 2025.
Why this matters
VinFast’s rapid growth in Vietnam demonstrates the increasing adoption of electric vehicles in the country, especially in compact and commercial segments. The company’s ability to deliver high volumes of affordable and practical EVs is helping to accelerate the transition from traditional vehicles to electric alternatives.
With new models entering the market and strong reservation numbers, VinFast’s performance highlights Vietnam’s evolving transportation landscape and the growing importance of EVs in everyday mobility.
What this means for buyers
Buyers in Vietnam can expect a wider range of electric vehicle options, including compact models suitable for city driving and commercial use. With VinFast expanding its lineup and maintaining competitive pricing, consumers have more choices for transitioning to electric mobility.
Those interested in the latest models, such as the VF 2 and new-generation VF 8, should watch for upcoming deliveries in the coming months.
