VW fires most of its software team in Germany after buying Chinese company

Volkswagen is reportedly considering cutting up to 2,000 jobs at its software subsidiary, Cariad, according to a recent report. The board of directors at Cariad has allegedly approved the decision to lay off 2,000 employees, with the job cuts anticipated to take place between 2024 and the end of 2025, as reported by the German publication ManagerMagazin.de. Additionally, Cariad is planning significant restructuring efforts, including further delays in its software architecture development.
