Why Nissan’s $9.5 billion plan completely failed in China

Japanese automaker Nissan Motor and its Chinese joint venture partner revealed a $9.5 billion investment initiative in China on Monday. The plan aims to augment annual sales by one million vehicles and amplify electric car production. Dongfeng Motor Company joins the ranks of Sino-foreign car manufacturers making substantial investments as China introduces new regulations to curb gas vehicles and promote electric car manufacturing in the coming years.
