Xiaomi Skynomad N70 and N90: Core Specs Revealed for New EREV Crossovers in China

Xiaomi’s independent Skynomad brand is preparing to launch two new extended-range electric crossovers in China, the N70 and N90. Regulatory filings have revealed key specifications for both models, highlighting their size, powertrains, and battery options. These new entries mark Xiaomi’s move into the comfort-focused EREV segment, distinct from its all-electric lineup.

Xiaomi Skynomad N70: Large Crossover with Two Powertrain Options

The Skynomad N70 serves as the entry-level model in Xiaomi’s new EREV lineup. It measures 4,960 mm (~195 inches) in length, 1,998 mm (~79 inches) in width, and 1,785 mm (~70 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm (~116 inches). This makes it 36 mm longer than the Mercedes-Benz GLE. The N70 features five seats and rides on either 19- or 21-inch wheels.

Under the hood, the N70 uses a 1.5-liter M15DRE engine from Changan’s Harbin Dongang subsidiary, acting as a generator for the battery. The rear-wheel-drive version is equipped with a single 210 kW (282 hp) electric motor and a 52 kWh LFP battery from Sunwoda, offering an electric range of 270 km (~168 miles). Fuel consumption with a depleted battery is rated at 5.8 liters per 100 km. The top speed is 190 km/h.

The all-wheel-drive N70 Max variant adds a 100 kW (134 hp) front motor, bringing total output to 310 kW (416 hp). It uses a 76 kWh ternary NMC battery from CALB, increasing electric range to 380 km (~236 miles) and fuel consumption to 6.2 liters per 100 km. Both variants feature large headlights, semi-hidden door handles, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, a ring-shaped taillight, and electrically powered side steps.

Xiaomi Skynomad N90: Full-Size SUV with Flagship Features

The Skynomad N90 is positioned as a full-size SUV, measuring 5,285 mm (~208 inches) in length, 1,998 mm (~79 inches) in width, and 1,825 mm (~72 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,080 mm (~121 inches). This makes it 76 mm longer than the Mercedes-Benz GLS. The N90 features staggered 21-inch wheels (255/45 front, 265/45 rear), a 965-mm front overhang, and a 1,240-mm rear overhang.

Inside, the N90 offers both 5- and 7-seat layouts. The curb weight is 2,800 kg (~6,173 lbs), and the gross weight is 3,361 kg (~7,413 lbs). Only the Max trim was detailed in regulatory filings, featuring the same 1.5-liter range extender and dual-motor setup as the N70 Max, with a combined output of 310 kW (416 hp). The N90 Max uses a 76 kWh ternary NMC battery from CALB, providing an electric range of 370 km (~230 miles). Fuel consumption with a drained battery is 6.26 liters per 100 km, and top speed is 190 km/h.

Xiaomi Skynomad Brand and Market Context

Xiaomi established the Skynomad brand to focus on comfort-oriented range extenders, while Xiaomi Auto continues to produce all-electric, driver-focused vehicles. According to China EV DataTracker, Xiaomi Auto achieved sales of 185,055 units in the first half of 2026, representing a 17.2% increase year-over-year.

Why this matters

The introduction of the Skynomad N70 and N90 expands Xiaomi’s presence in the growing EREV market, offering new options for buyers seeking large, comfort-focused SUVs with extended electric range. The detailed specifications highlight Xiaomi’s intent to compete with established players in both the large crossover and full-size SUV segments.

What this means for buyers

Buyers interested in extended-range electric SUVs now have new options to consider from Xiaomi’s Skynomad brand. Those seeking a large or full-size SUV with flexible seating and substantial electric range should watch for further announcements on pricing and availability as these models approach market launch.
