Xiaomi has announced the Xring D100, marking the debut of China’s first intelligent driving chip based on a 3nm process. This new chip is designed for advanced autonomous driving applications and represents a significant step for Xiaomi in automotive technology.
Xring D100: Technical Highlights
The Xring D100 features a 20-core high-performance CPU and a 16-core high-compute NPU. It supports up to 160GB of memory and is capable of locally deploying large-scale models with up to 200 billion parameters.
Estimated to deliver between 700 TOPS and 1,000 TOPS, the Xring D100’s performance is comparable to Xpeng’s Turing and BYD’s Xuanji A3 chips. Current Xiaomi SU7 and YU7 series vehicles use Nvidia chips with 700 TOPS of computing power.

Development and Industry Context
By developing its own chip, Xiaomi joins other Chinese automakers such as BYD, Nio, Xpeng, and Li Auto in pursuing in-house silicon for intelligent driving. The Xring D100 allows Xiaomi to optimise its XLA end-to-end intelligent driving model, as it is tailored to the company’s specific data flow and memory requirements.
The chip must still undergo automotive certification, extensive validation, and integration with Xiaomi’s XLA model before it can be deployed in production vehicles.
Deployment and Market Outlook
It is not yet confirmed which Xiaomi vehicle will first use the Xring D100 chip. CarNewsChina suggests that the chip could appear in an updated YU7 model next year, but this has not been officially announced.
Xiaomi delivered 80,856 vehicles in the first quarter of this year and 104,199 vehicles in the second quarter. The company has set a target of delivering 550,000 vehicles in 2026.
