Global Launch Event in Munich

Xpeng will hold the global launch of the Mona L03 SUV at 7:00 pm Beijing Time (1:00 pm local time) on July 16 in Munich, Germany. This marks the company’s first formal global launch event, reflecting its growing ambitions in the international EV market.

At the event, Xpeng will also present its physical AI roadmap, highlighting advancements in smart-driving technology and its globalization strategy.

Simultaneous Sales in China and Europe

The Mona L03 is Xpeng’s first model to be launched simultaneously in both China and Europe. Pre-sales for the SUV began in China on July 2, with prices ranging from $21,178 (~AUD 30,468) to $24,418 (~AUD 35,130).

Xpeng plans to introduce the Mona L03 to 64 countries and regions, aiming to broaden its global reach.

Model Overview and Technology

The Mona L03 is the first SUV in the Mona lineup and follows the Mona M03 sedan. Xpeng describes the vehicle as ‘the first smart and stylish SUV for young people,’ targeting both young consumers and mainstream families.

The SUV offers both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain options. The BEV version provides CLTC ranges of 525 km (~326 miles) and 625 km (~388 miles), with energy consumption of 11.9 kWh per 100 km. It supports 3C fast charging, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in 19.1 minutes.

The EREV version delivers a combined CLTC range of up to 1,330 km (~826 miles) and a pure electric range of 315 km (~196 miles), with WLTC combined fuel consumption of 5.16 liters per 100 km. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 6.8 seconds.

Smart Features and Design

All Mona L03 variants are equipped with Xpeng’s in-house developed Turing AI chip, offering up to 1500 TOPS of computing power and supporting the second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) system.

The Max variant features a single chip with 750 TOPS, while the Ultra SE variant uses dual chips and supports the full version of the second-generation VLA.

Designed by an international team led by former Ferrari exterior designer JuanMa Lopez, the Mona L03 adopts the Vital Flow design concept and achieves a drag coefficient as low as Cd 0.228.

The interior includes a 26.8-inch W-HUD, a 20-speaker AI audio system, a 14-point massage zero-gravity front passenger seat, 539 liters (~19 cubic feet) of trunk space, and 6 kW vehicle-to-load power output.

Xpeng’s Recent Performance

Xpeng delivered 40,126 vehicles in June, a 15.93% increase year-on-year, marking its highest monthly total so far in 2026 and ending five consecutive months of year-on-year declines.

The Mona M03 sedan delivered 175,689 units in 2025, accounting for 40.91% of Xpeng’s full-year deliveries. However, in the first half of this year, cumulative deliveries of the Mona M03 fell 27.63% year-on-year to 62,488 units.

Why this matters

The Mona L03’s simultaneous launch in China and Europe signals Xpeng’s commitment to global expansion and its intent to compete in international markets. By offering advanced smart-driving features and a competitive price, Xpeng aims to attract young buyers and mainstream families.

This launch could help Xpeng sustain its recent sales rebound and establish a stronger presence in the global EV market.

What this means for buyers

Buyers in China and Europe can expect the Mona L03 to be available soon after its global debut, with a focus on affordability, advanced technology, and smart-driving features. Those interested in a tech-forward, competitively priced SUV may find the Mona L03 an appealing option as it rolls out to more markets.
