Xpeng has begun double-shift production of the Mona L03 SUV and is working closely with suppliers to boost capacity. The company is preparing for a busy fourth quarter, with the large 5-seat G9L SUV set to officially launch and begin deliveries in China in September 2026.
The Mona L05, a mid-size SUV, will follow in the fourth quarter. This model will be available in both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) versions, and is positioned above the Mona L03 in Xpeng’s lineup.

Xpeng will begin rolling out a major upgrade to its second-generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) assisted driving model in late August. The new version 6.3.0 will feature 3.5 times as many parameters as before and a 300% increase in perception sensitivity.
The update will also introduce longer-horizon reasoning and predictive capabilities. Xpeng plans to integrate the VLA with a Vision-Language Model (VLM), bringing some robotaxi features to mass-produced vehicles. The company aims to obtain regulatory approval in Europe in the first half of 2027 and expand the rollout of its advanced assisted driving technology.
