Masses of unsold Chinese EVs are piling up and blocking European Ports

Governments in Europe and the US are expressing apprehension about the potential influx of inexpensive electric vehicles (EVs) manufactured in China. Presently, the US imposes a tariff of 27.5% on Chinese EVs, effectively restricting their entry into the American market. In February, Senator Josh Hawley, known for his strong support of the MAGA movement, proposed a bill aimed at increasing the tariff on Chinese EVs to 100% to safeguard American auto workers from what he perceives as a significant threat emanating from China.
