2027 Volvo EX60 Starts at $58,400, Promises Up to 400 Miles of Range

Volvo has opened orders for the 2027 EX60, its newest electric SUV, with pricing starting at $58,400 before destination. The lineup includes versions with up to 400 miles of range, 800V fast charging, and access to Tesla Superchargers through a native NACS port.

Volvo has officially opened orders for the 2027 EX60, a new electric SUV the company says is its most advanced battery-powered model yet. The headline for buyers is price: the base model starts at $58,400, putting it below several luxury EV rivals in the US market.

The EX60 arrives as Volvo tries to make premium electric SUVs more accessible without giving up range or charging speed. It also marks an important step for the brand in North America, where the segment is getting crowded and price-sensitive.

Pricing undercuts several luxury competitors

The entry-level EX60 P6 starts at $58,400, excluding the $1,395 destination fee. Volvo says that makes it cheaper than the newly announced BMW iX3, which starts at $61,500, and below many other luxury electric SUVs currently on sale.

Among the models Volvo is clearly aiming at are the Genesis Electrified GV70, Porsche Macan Electric, Audi Q6 e-tron, Rivian R1S, and Mercedes EQS SUV. Their starting prices, as listed by Volvo, range from $63,800 for the Audi Q6 e-tron to $89,950 for the Mercedes EQS.

Three powertrains, three battery sizes

Volvo is offering the EX60 with three powertrain options: P6, P10 AWD, and P12 AWD. Each uses a different battery pack and delivers a different mix of range and performance.

  • EX60 P6: 83 kWh battery, up to 307 miles of range
  • EX60 P10 AWD: 95 kWh battery, up to 322 miles of range
  • EX60 P12 AWD: 117 kWh battery, up to 400 miles of range

The longest-range version is the top-spec P12 AWD, which Volvo says will go on sale later in the year. The P6 and P10 AWD are available to order now.

Fast charging and an 800V platform

The EX60 is built on Volvo’s SPA3 platform with an 800V electrical architecture, which should help with charging speed. Volvo says the P12 AWD can add up to 173 miles of range in 19 minutes at a peak charging rate of 370 kW.

The base P6 can add up to 155 miles in 16 minutes with a maximum charging rate of 320 kW. The P10 AWD is rated to add about 165 miles in the same time at up to 370 kW.

Those figures place the EX60 among the faster-charging electric SUVs on the market, although real-world results will depend on battery temperature, charger capability, and arrival state of charge.

Standard and upgraded equipment

Volvo says both Plus and Ultra trims will be offered on the P6 and P10 AWD versions. The least expensive EX60 P6 Plus comes with a 15-inch OLED center display, Google built-in software, Gemini AI Assistant, Pilot Assist, a 21-speaker Bose audio system, and Volvo’s Safe Space safety suite.

Moving up to Ultra adds unique exterior badging, ventilated Nappa leather, a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system, a dimmable panoramic roof, and heated booster seats for rear passengers.

NACS support and Supercharger access

The EX60 is Volvo’s first EV to come with a native NACS port, giving owners access to more than 29,000 Tesla Superchargers in the US. That is a meaningful change for buyers who regularly rely on public charging and want broader network compatibility without adapters.

As more automakers adopt NACS, charging convenience is becoming a major factor in EV shopping. For Volvo, native support helps the EX60 better match the expectations of US buyers entering the premium EV market.

Launch timing and public display

Volvo says test drives will be available later this summer, with customer deliveries expected shortly after that. The EX60 will also be shown at Westfield World Trade Center in New York City from May 18 to May 20.

The company is already using the EX60 launch to support sales of its current electric lineup. Volvo says it is offering discounts including 0% APR financing and a purchase allowance of up to $7,500 on existing EV models.

That suggests Volvo is using the EX60 both as a halo product and as a way to keep attention on its broader EV range while dealership inventory moves.

Why this launch matters

The EX60 is significant because it gives Volvo a more aggressive entry point in the premium EV SUV market. A starting price below $60,000, strong range numbers, and fast-charging capability make it more competitive against both legacy luxury brands and newer EV-focused rivals.

It also shows how quickly the market is shifting. Buyers now expect not just electric range, but also rapid charging, software integration, and native access to fast-charging networks. The EX60 is Volvo’s attempt to meet all of those expectations in one package.

Why This Matters

The EX60 matters because it lands in one of the most competitive corners of the EV market: premium electric SUVs. By starting under $60,000 while offering up to 400 miles of range and native NACS support, Volvo is trying to make a strong case for buyers who want luxury without a six-figure price tag.

It also reflects a bigger industry shift. Range and charging speed are no longer enough on their own; access to Tesla Superchargers, native plug compatibility, and in-car software now shape buying decisions. The EX60 shows how automakers are adjusting to those expectations.
