Avatr has introduced its first wagon, the 06T, in China with five variants priced from 219,900 yuan to 279,900 yuan ($31,900 to $40,600). The model offers pure-electric and extended-range powertrains, including a tri-motor version with 712 kW (955 hp), 0-100 km/h in 2.78 seconds, and a CLTC range of 680 km. The wagon also brings Huawei-based software, advanced driver assistance hardware, and a distinctive aerodynamic design.

Avatr has officially entered the wagon segment with the launch of the 06T, its first estate-style model, on April 22, 2026. The premium new-energy brand is backed by Changan, Huawei, and CATL, and positions the new car as an “all-scenario sports touring wagon.”
The 06T arrives in five trim levels and is priced from 219,900 yuan to 279,900 yuan, which translates to roughly $31,900 to $40,600. Buyers can choose between battery-electric and extended-range versions, giving the model a broader appeal than a single-powertrain performance wagon.
Design focuses on aerodynamics and a low stance
Avatr says the 06T follows its “Future Sports Aesthetics” design language. The shape is meant to echo the diving motion of a peregrine falcon, helping create a low, wide stance that fits the brand’s premium positioning.
At the front, the car uses Avatr’s familiar dual-level lighting layout. The main beam units are integrated into the lower bumper area, while the front fascia also includes a trapezoidal intake with an active grille.
The wagon measures 4,940 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,455 mm tall, with a 2,940 mm wheelbase. It also uses semi-hidden door handles that meet China’s newer regulations, and some versions can be fitted with electronic exterior mirrors to improve airflow.

At the rear, the 06T features a roof spoiler, rear window wiper, and full-width taillight design. Roof rails reinforce the car’s touring-oriented character.
Cabin brings a multi-screen layout and Huawei software
Inside, Avatr has given the 06T an enveloping cockpit design built around multiple displays. The setup includes a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic ring screen, a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, and two 6.7-inch screens for the electronic side mirrors.
Three interior color themes are offered: Twilight Purple/Smoke White, Deep Purple, and Dai Red. The overall layout aims to blend a high-tech feel with a more lounge-like interior atmosphere.
The infotainment system runs HarmonySpace 5 and includes a built-in MoLA large model. Avatr says this supports AI-based vehicle control, cross-scenario intelligent coordination, and voice interaction.
Huawei driver-assistance tech headlines the spec sheet
For advanced driver assistance, the 06T uses Huawei Qiankun ADS 4. Higher-spec versions come with Huawei Qiankun 896-line LiDAR and 4D millimetre-wave radar, which Avatr says can detect low obstacles as small as 14 cm from up to 120 meters away.

The entry-level model uses Huawei Qiankun’s in-cabin laser vision system with a dual-optical-path setup. That gives the range a tiered technology strategy, with the most advanced sensing reserved for the upper trims.
Three powertrain routes, including a 955 hp flagship
Under the skin, the 06T uses Avatr’s Taihang Intelligent Control 2.0 system with Taihang distributed electric drive hardware.
The pure-electric dual-motor versions are offered with either a 450 kW (603 hp) or 502 kW (673 hp) output. They are paired with 72.88 kWh and 87.3 kWh LFP battery packs, delivering CLTC ranges of 652 km and 741 km respectively.
For buyers wanting maximum performance, the tri-motor all-wheel-drive model combines one front motor with two rear motors for a total output of 712 kW (955 hp). Avatr says it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.78 seconds and uses an 87.3 kWh battery pack for a CLTC range of 680 km.
There is also an extended-range dual-motor variant powered by a 1.5T range extender. That version offers 330 km of pure-electric CLTC driving and a total combined range of 1,250 km.
Why the 06T matters for Avatr and Changan
The 06T is important because it expands Avatr into a segment that remains relatively uncommon in China’s EV market. Wagons are still a niche compared with sedans and SUVs, but they can appeal to buyers who want practicality without giving up performance or style.
The launch also comes at a sensitive moment for Avatr’s parent ecosystem. According to China EV DataTracker, Avatr sold 4,033 vehicles in February and 5,143 in March, but did not disclose January numbers, which suggests a weaker start to the year. The brand has also been under pressure as losses mount across the portfolio.
That financial strain has already prompted Changan to move toward closer integration of Avatr and Deepal operations in 2026. In that context, the 06T is not just a new model launch; it is also part of a broader effort to strengthen Avatr’s market presence and improve scale.
Why This Matters
The Avatr 06T shows how Chinese EV brands are moving beyond the standard sedan-and-SUV formula to test niche body styles with high-end hardware. A wagon with up to 955 hp, long CLTC range, and Huawei-based smart driving tech gives buyers a rare combination of practicality and extreme performance.

It also reflects the pressure on emerging EV brands to differentiate themselves while managing weak profitability. For Avatr and Changan, the 06T is as much a brand-building exercise as it is a product launch, especially as the company looks to tighten its operations and improve sales momentum.
