Li Auto Reaches 200,000 Li i6 Units Produced as 2026 Model Deliveries Begin

Li Auto has achieved a major production milestone with 200,000 units of its Li i6 battery electric SUV now built. Deliveries of the updated 2026 Li i6 have started across China, with the company preparing to ramp up production capacity in the coming months.

Production Milestone and Delivery Ramp-Up

Li Auto‘s product line head, Li Xinyang, announced that cumulative production of the Li i6 has reached 200,000 units. This milestone comes just over a year after the five-seat SUV first went on sale in September 2025.

Deliveries of the 2026 Li i6 began on October 29. The company has prepared vehicles for near-term delivery and is accelerating its production ramp-up to meet demand. Current wait times for new orders are 7 to 8 weeks, with customers ordering now expected to receive their vehicles before the end of the year.

Plans for Increased Capacity

Li Auto plans to raise production capacity for the Li i6 to 20,000 units in November, with a further increase scheduled for December. This move is aimed at supporting the rollout of the updated model and reducing customer wait times.

2026 Li i6 Updates and Pricing

The 2026 Li i6 was officially launched on October 28, with its starting price unchanged at $37,392 (~AUD 53,091). For customers purchasing on or before November 30, introductory offers bring the price down to $35,895 (~AUD 50,966).

The updated model features Li Auto’s in-house developed Mach M100 driver-assistance chip and a 96-kWh Lianshan 5C lithium iron phosphate battery. The rear-wheel-drive version now offers a CLTC range of 780 km (~485 miles).

Recent Delivery Trends

Li i6 deliveries totaled 7,379 units in September, a decrease of 56.54% compared to August, and accounted for 23.19% of Li Auto’s total deliveries that month. In the first nine months of 2026, the Li i6 recorded 160,221 deliveries, with cumulative deliveries since launch reaching 189,192 by the end of September.

It is important to note that the 200,000-unit figure refers to cumulative production, not deliveries.

European Expansion Plans

Li Auto announced on October 12 that the Li i6, to be marketed as the Li 6 in Europe, is scheduled to go on sale and begin deliveries in Norway and the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2027.

Li L6 Extended-Range SUV Update

Li Xinyang also reported that cumulative production of the Li L6 extended-range SUV has reached 420,000 units. The Li L6 has topped sales among extended-range models for two consecutive months.

Why this matters

Reaching 200,000 units produced for the Li i6 highlights Li Auto’s ability to scale up manufacturing of its battery electric SUV. The company’s plans to increase production capacity and maintain steady pricing while upgrading technology are significant as it seeks to meet customer demand and remain competitive.

The upcoming European launch of the Li i6 also marks an important step for Li Auto as it expands its presence beyond China.

What this means for buyers

Customers interested in the 2026 Li i6 can expect a wait time of 7 to 8 weeks, with the possibility of shorter waits as production ramps up. Those purchasing before November 30 can take advantage of introductory pricing.

With upgraded features and a stable price, the Li i6 remains a key option for buyers seeking a five-seat battery electric SUV in China, and soon in select European markets.
