Zeekr Opens Pre-Sales for Updated 7X SUV in China at $34,380 (~AUD 49,309)

Zeekr has begun pre-sales for the refreshed 7X electric SUV in China, maintaining its starting price while introducing new battery options and comfort upgrades. The updated model features a 900-volt architecture and offers up to 802 kilometers (~498 miles) of CLTC range across three variants.

Pre-Sales and Pricing

Pre-sales for the 2027 Zeekr 7X electric SUV began on Thursday, with a starting price of $34,380 (~AUD 49,309). Zeekr, a premium brand under Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175), has kept the entry price unchanged from the previous model. Customers who order before the official launch can pay 2,000 yuan to receive a 7,000 yuan credit as part of a limited-time offer.

Display vehicles are now available at Zeekr stores nationwide. The official launch of the updated 7X is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.

Battery and Charging Upgrades

The updated Zeekr 7X introduces a 900-volt architecture across all variants and adds a new 85-kWh Shendun Golden Battery, bridging the gap between the previous 75-kWh and 103-kWh options. The SUV is available in three variants: rear-wheel-drive Max, rear-wheel-drive Max+, and all-wheel-drive Ultra.

The Max+ variant offers an optional 103-kWh Qilin Battery, delivering up to 802 kilometers (~498 miles) of CLTC range. The Max+ comes standard with the new 85-kWh battery, providing 680 kilometers (~423 miles) of CLTC range. The entry-level Max uses a 75-kWh pack, while the Ultra features a 103-kWh battery.

Both the 75-kWh and 85-kWh batteries support a peak charging rate of 5.5C and can charge from 10% to 80% in 10.5 minutes. The 103-kWh battery supports a 6C rate and can charge from 10% to 80% in 10 minutes. Charging times depend on infrastructure and test conditions.

Comfort and Technology Enhancements

Standard equipment on the updated 7X includes a tire-blowout stability system, RNC active noise cancellation, and a CCD electromagnetic damping system. Zeekr has also made changes to the seats, as well as interior and exterior color options.

On the technology side, the model debuts version 4.1 of Geely Afari Smart Driving (G-ASD), which offers navigation-assisted driving and parking-space-to-parking-space navigation.

Sales Performance

The Zeekr 7X is a key contributor to the brand’s sales. From January through September 2026, the model delivered 86,806 vehicles, accounting for 30.10% of Zeekr’s total deliveries during that period. In October, Zeekr delivered 32,483 vehicles, a 51.6% increase year-on-year but a 12.72% decrease from September, ending a streak of six consecutive monthly delivery records.

Overall, Zeekr delivered 320,887 vehicles in the first ten months of 2026, up 94.45% year-on-year.

Why this matters

The updated Zeekr 7X demonstrates the brand’s focus on maintaining competitive pricing while introducing significant upgrades in battery technology, charging speed, and comfort features. With the 7X accounting for a substantial portion of Zeekr’s sales, these enhancements are likely to help sustain the brand’s growth in China’s electric SUV market.

The introduction of a new battery option and advanced smart driving features may appeal to buyers seeking longer range and improved technology in their next electric vehicle.

What this means for buyers

Buyers interested in the Zeekr 7X can take advantage of the pre-sales offer, which provides a credit for early orders. The new battery options and faster charging capabilities offer more flexibility for different driving needs.

Those considering an electric SUV in China now have an updated option with enhanced range, charging, and comfort features, while the starting price remains unchanged from the previous model.
