Xpeng has officially launched its GX and G9L flagship SUVs in 11 countries across the Middle East and Africa. The GX made its overseas debut at an event in Dubai on November 2, with both models now available for pre-order in the region.
Launch Details and Market Availability
The GX and G9L SUVs are now on sale in 11 countries, including the UAE, Qatar, Morocco, Tunisia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Lebanon, Jordan, and Nigeria. The GX is also launching in Egypt, while the G9L is available in Ghana.
The Dubai event marked the overseas debut of the GX. In the UAE, the GX Flagship Edition is priced at $81,416 (~AUD 116,253), and the G9L starts at $70,524 (~AUD 100,701). Both models are available for pre-order, though specific delivery dates have not been disclosed.
Technology and Features
Both the GX and G9L feature Xpeng’s Kunpeng Range Extender technology, which is designed to support long-distance travel and adapt to varying charging infrastructure in the region.
Xpeng cites a maximum combined NEDC range of 1,210 kilometers (~752 miles) for both models. The extended-range system includes an 800V architecture and 5C fast-charging technology, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 10.7 minutes.
The GX is positioned as a 6-seat flagship SUV focused on comfort, privacy, and space. The G9L is tailored for family travel and outdoor activities, offering a flexible 3-row seating layout.
Regional Expansion and Support
Xpeng plans to expand its presence in the Middle East and Africa to more than 20 countries and regions by 2027, with over 100 sales and service outlets. The company aims to enter all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) markets by the end of this year.
New distribution agreements have been announced with Auto Sales in Kuwait and Mohsin Automobiles LLC in Oman. Xpeng’s central spare-parts warehouse in Dubai can deliver parts to service centers in as little as 24 hours.
Full cross-regional warranty coverage has been achieved across the GCC and Levant, with plans to extend this service to North Africa in 2027.
Sales Performance
Xpeng delivered a record 13,326 vehicles overseas in October 2026, accounting for 26.53% of its total deliveries that month. Total October deliveries reached 50,237 vehicles, up 19.57% year-on-year.
Deliveries in the first 10 months of 2026 totaled 334,604 vehicles, though this figure represents a 5.80% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Why this matters
The launch of the GX and G9L in the Middle East and Africa marks a significant step in Xpeng’s international sales strategy, bringing advanced EV technology and extended-range capabilities to new markets.
With growing overseas deliveries and expanded regional support, Xpeng is strengthening its position as a global EV manufacturer.
