Xpeng’s Mona L03 SUV has made a strong debut, securing over 20,000 firm orders just seven minutes after its official launch in China. The model marks Xpeng’s first global release, launching simultaneously in China and Europe and targeting a broad international market.
Rapid Order Surge After Launch
Xpeng announced on its official Weibo account that the Mona L03 received more than 20,000 firm orders within seven minutes of its launch in China. In the Chinese market, a firm order typically means a non-refundable deposit, indicating a high level of buyer commitment.
The global launch event for the Mona L03 took place in Munich, Germany, highlighting the company’s international ambitions.

Pricing and Variants
The Mona L03 is available in nine variants in China, with prices ranging from $18,254 (~AUD 26,217) to $23,120 (~AUD 33,205). The official starting price is $2,949 (~AUD 4,235) lower than the pre-sales price announced earlier this month.
Both the battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) versions start at $18,254 (~AUD 26,217) in China. In Europe, the Mona L03 starts at $40,650 (~AUD 58,383).
Powertrain and Technology Features
The Mona L03 is offered in both BEV and EREV configurations. The BEV version provides CLTC ranges of 525 km (~326 miles) and 625 km (~388 miles), while the EREV version features a 37.2-kWh battery, delivering a CLTC battery-only range of 315 km (~196 miles) and a combined range of up to 1,330 km (~827 miles).
Every Mona L03 is equipped with Xpeng’s in-house-developed Turing AI chip. The Max variants use a single chip with 750 TOPS of computing power and a distilled version of the second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) system. The Ultra SE variants use two chips for a combined 1,500 TOPS, supporting a more advanced version of the VLA system.
Global Expansion and Connectivity
The Mona L03 is Xpeng’s first global model to launch simultaneously in China and Europe and will eventually be available in 64 overseas markets. Xpeng has established a European R&D center in Munich and started localized production in Austria.
To support its European expansion, Xpeng is collaborating with over 150 dealers and plans to build more than 1,000 company-operated supercharging stations across 13 European countries. The Mona L03 is also the first Xpeng model to integrate the Google Maps Auto SDK, which will support the company’s NGP (Next Generation Pilot) and Xpilot Assist systems.

Competitor Comparison
In China, the Mona L03 will compete with compact SUVs such as BYD’s Yuan Plus and Leapmotor’s C10, both of which are positioned in a similar price range.
Why this matters
The rapid accumulation of firm orders for the Mona L03 demonstrates strong consumer interest in affordable, tech-focused electric SUVs. The simultaneous launch in China and Europe signals Xpeng’s commitment to global expansion and its ability to compete in both domestic and international markets.
With advanced assisted-driving hardware and a competitive price, the Mona L03 could help Xpeng broaden its customer base and strengthen its position in the mass-market EV segment.

What this means for buyers
Buyers interested in a competitively priced electric SUV with advanced driver-assistance features now have a new option in the Mona L03. With both BEV and EREV versions available, the model caters to a range of driving needs and preferences.
Those in Europe and China can expect increasing availability as Xpeng expands its dealer network and charging infrastructure. Prospective buyers should compare the Mona L03 with rivals like the BYD Yuan Plus and Leapmotor C10 to determine the best fit for their requirements.
