BYD‘s premium brand Denza is set to open pre-sales for its refreshed N8 SUV on October 26, with the official market launch scheduled for November. The new Denza N8 introduces a large 5-seat electric SUV to the lineup, featuring advanced flash charging technology and multiple powertrain options.
Pre-Sales and Launch Timeline
Denza general manager Li Hui announced on Weibo that pre-sales for the new Denza N8 will begin on October 26. The official market launch is set for November, although specific pricing and delivery details have not yet been disclosed.
This announcement follows the model’s regulatory filing in July, which brought the N8 closer to its market debut.
Powertrain and Technology
Regulatory filings from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) confirm that the new Denza N8 will be available in both single-motor rear-wheel-drive and triple-motor all-wheel-drive variants.
The single-motor versions offer peak outputs of 320 kW (429 hp) and 370 kW, while the triple-motor all-wheel-drive model uses the e3 technology platform, delivering a combined 890 kW from one front and two rear motors.
Denza has confirmed that the N8 will feature BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology. According to Denza, this system provides a usable charge in 5 minutes and a near full charge in 9 minutes. Even in extreme cold conditions of minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging is only 3 minutes longer.
Design and Dimensions
The new Denza N8 is a large 5-seat electric SUV, measuring 5,150 mm (~203 inches) in length, 1,999 mm (~78.7 inches) in width, and 1,820 mm (~71.7 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm (~121.1 inches).
Compared to the 6-seat N8L, the N8 is 50 mm (~2 inches) shorter, while other dimensions remain unchanged.

Model Evolution
The new N8 revives the nameplate as an all-electric model. The original N8, launched in August 2023, was offered in 6-seat and 7-seat plug-in hybrid variants but was discontinued less than a year later.
Denza subsequently introduced the 6-seat N8L in October 2025 with a redesigned exterior, followed by a flash charging plug-in hybrid version in June this year and an all-electric version in September.
The upcoming N8 will complement the 6-seat N8L by offering a different seating configuration.
Why this matters
The introduction of the refreshed Denza N8 expands BYD’s premium electric SUV offerings, providing more options for buyers seeking advanced charging technology and high performance. The inclusion of both single-motor and triple-motor variants, along with rapid charging capabilities, highlights Denza’s focus on technology and flexibility in the large SUV segment.
What this means for buyers
Buyers interested in a large, high-tech electric SUV will soon have a new option with the Denza N8. Those considering the N8 should watch for official pricing and detailed specifications when pre-sales begin on October 26, as the model brings advanced charging and multiple powertrain choices to the market.
